Genesis’ all-electric GV60 crossover has been spotted testing on a number of occasions and, according to a new report, could be unveiled as early as June.

Its launch will come after the release of both the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, which use the same E-GMP architecture as the GV60. The Korean Car Blog now reports that we could see it in the flesh in just a couple of months.

Spy shots of the vehicle have confirmed that it will be smaller than the GV70 but include the quad headlights and quad taillights that all new Genesis models feature. It will also have a sloping roofline and will look quite different than the Ioniq 5 and EV6.

The Electric-Global Modular Platform to be used by the GV60 is rear-wheel drive based but it’s possible Genesis will only sell the vehicle with all-wheel drive.

At this early stage, it’s hard to know what kind of performance the GV60 will provide. Kia shocked many when it revealed the EV6 in March and confirmed that it would get a high-performance variant with much more power than any version of the Ioniq 5. Dubbed the EV6 GT, this model features a 77.4 kWh battery pack and dual electric motors that combine to produce 577 hp and 546 lb-ft (740 Nm) of torque, allowing it to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.5 seconds. As Genesis is the Hyundai Motor Group’s premium brand, it wouldn’t be a surprise if it gets this powertrain with the same, or even more, performance.
