Bugatti delivered the last example of the Divo in Europe, successfully completing the limited production run of 40 units in Molsheim three years after the hypercar’s public debut. The Divo was the first coachbuilding project in Bugatti’s modern history, a practice that now continues with La Voiture Noire and the Centodieci.

Bugatti launched the Divo in August 2018 at the Concours d’Elegance Pebble Beach. With a base price of €5 million ($5.8 million at the time), the Divo used the underpinnings of the Chiron but featured a completely redesigned body, a more focused setup while using the same quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 with 1,479 hp (1,103 kW / 1,500 PS).

According to Hendrik Malinowski, Director of Sales and Operations at Bugatti, all 40 units of the Divo had been sold within a matter of weeks following the first customer appointments in spring 2018, long before the hypercar was publicly unveiled. Following a two-year development period, customer deliveries commenced in August 2020. One year later, all 40 units of the Bugatti Divo are delivered to their new homes.

Bugatti claims that each Divo is completely bespoke, with many customers opting for one-off production features, contributing their own design ideas. Accordingly, the last Divo is painted in bright EB 110 LM Blue combined with Dark Blue carbon and matte gold metallic wheel rims. Inside the owner opted for the French Racing Blue and Deep Blue main colors, with matte gray carbon elements.

We have to admit that this specification is quite nice, even though the gold wheels and blue paint combination remind us of the Subaru Impreza WRX. The humble Japanese sports sedan though has nothing to do with this bespoke hypercar.

The success of the Divo proves that Stephan Winkelman’s bet with Bugatti’s return to coachbuilding paid off and that we should expect more limited-production models in the future. Following the recent announcement that Bugatti and Rimac joined forces, Mate Rimac confirmed that Bugatti’s first EV will be unveiled before the end of this decade.
