Porsche’s work with the 911 never stops and it was recently spotted testing a hybridized 911 Turbo S at the Nurburgring.

Our eagle-eyed spy photographers first spotted this same prototype testing on the streets around the German circuit back in August. We now have the opportunity to see the car being pushed to its limits on the ‘Ring and it looks fast. Very, very fast.

Throughout the video, we can see the Porsche engineer behind the wheel kick out the tail of the prototype through one corner while also experiencing a huge amount of understeer around a left-handed, forcing him to correct the slide and send the car wide across the curb and into the grass. Visually, the prototype sounds no different than a regular 911 Turbo or 911 Turbo S.

A couple of aspects of this prototype point towards it featuring a hybrid powertrain. Most notably, it has a yellow sticker at the top of the rear window, indicating that it is electrified. Additionally, the rear window and rear side windows have been completely blacked-out as the batteries have apparently been placed behind the front seats.

Technical specifications about the car aren’t known but if the brand uses its familiar 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six and pairs it with an electric motor, we would expect the car to deliver well over 700 hp. It is also understood that the 911 Turbo S E-Hybrid uses a 400-volt system and the presence of an electric motor and battery pack will mean it can be driven in an all-electric mode as well.
