If you want a car that can sprint down the quarter-mile at frightening speeds, you’ll likely want one that’s either rear- or all-wheel drive. However, there are a number of insane front-wheel drive drag cars out there and this 1992 Honda Civic is one of the most impressive.

The owner of this extensively modified Civic once used it as his daily driver but after participating in some street races, the car was impounded. This prompted him to take drag racing more seriously, albeit this time at sanctioned events and not on the street.

A dizzying array of modifications have been made to the car over the years. Powering the Civic is one of Honda’s famed K-series engines displacing 2.2-liters that has been fully built and rocks a 73.9 mm Precision turbocharger. The car also runs a massive front-mounted intercooler and the engine is coupled to a dog-box transmission.

Speaking with That Racing Channel, the driver of the car, Bradley Dillon, reveals that it makes 1,100 hp at the wheels when running on 28 psi of boost. When at the drag strip, boost is upped to 57 psi.

Bring all these upgrades together alongside a set of massive front tires and the car can sprint down the quarter-mile in 7.94 seconds at 185 mph (298 km/h), making this the quickest K-series powered car on earth.

Watching the car sprint down the track is quite a sight to behold, particularly given its odd stance where the front end is much wider than the rear.
