Porsche has been testing lightly camouflaged Cayenne prototypes for months and now the disguise is all but gone.

As a result, we’re getting our best look at the facelifted crossover and crossover coupe that are expected to be introduced later this year.

While the exact timing remains a mystery, it’s clear the updates will be relatively subtle. Starting up front, there are new headlights that feature dash-like LEDs similar to those found on the Taycan.

Further below, we can see a lightly revised bumper and a new grille that features two rows of horizontal bars as well as pronounced vertical supports. They’re joined by revised cladding that now flows into the lower intakes.

The updates continue out back as we can see new taillights hidden beneath a minimalist disguise. More notably, the liftgate and rear bumper are all-new as the license plate recess has been moved down to the bumper.

Previous spy photos have shown the Cayenne will be equipped with a new digital instrument cluster and a revised steering wheel. Fans can also expect a new infotainment system and a revamped center console with updated switchgear as well as a minimalist shifter.

Powertrain details are still lacking, but we might find an upgraded engine lineup. While that remains to be seen, the current model offers an assortment of options ranging from a turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 to a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 developing 541 hp (403 kW / 549 PS). Porsche also offers a number of plug-in hybrids including a 670 hp (500 kW / 679 PS) Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid.
