The 991-generation Porsche 911 GT2 RS is an absolute beast but for us, it is perhaps a little too focused on ultimate track performance. Fortunately, the 997 model doesn’t have quite the same serious attitude and comes across as more lively and engaging to drive. A particularly nice example is currently up for grabs.

What you’re looking at is a 2011 911 GT2 RS model that is up for auction with manufacturer’s literature, two keys, a spare shifter, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title. It is #486 of just 500 examples produced, is painted Carrara White and has only been driven some 5,000-odd miles since new.

Contrasting the Carrara White paint are 19-inch center-locking wheels with a black finish and clad in 245/35 front and 325/30 rear Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Key standard features of the car include Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) and, of course, an almighty engine.

That engine takes the form of a 3.6-liter flat-six fitted with a pair of turbochargers and churning out 620 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. This flat-six is mated to a six-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels through a mechanically locking limited-slip differential.

The interior of this 911 GT2 RS is particularly striking thanks to the black leather and red Alcantara that adorns the Adaptive Sport Seats. Various other parts are finished in red, including the steering wheel and handbrake, while white stitching is also found throughout. A host of carbon fiber accents are also found throughout the car’s cabin.

Enthusiasts are clearly very interested in this GT2 RS as bidding on Bring a Trailer has already hit $520,000 with one day left in the auction. To put that into perspective, it’s not hard to find a 991-generation model on the used market for less than $400,000.
