The era of screen insanity is approaching, and Lincoln won’t be left out. Ford’s premium brand is teasing a new pillar-to-pillar-wide screen that will sit above the more familiar tablet-style screen on the upcoming 2024 Nautilus’ dashboard.

In a tweet shared today, Lincoln described the screen as “unlike anything we’ve designed before,” and showed off its capabilities with an animation of purple energy swirling among clouds all the way across the screen before showing off the model’s name.

On the lower screen, meanwhile, the Lincoln badge can be seen. The presence of that the tablet-style display, and its position relative to the massive dash-wide one above it, suggest that it will be the only touchscreen available to the driver.

The positioning of the larger screen above appears to be too far away for a driver to interact with manually. Instead, it seems that it will function as both an instrument cluster and a more general media display—buttons for which will likely be placed on the steering wheel, and possibly elsewhere in the cabin.

The over-the-top display puts Lincoln in league with other premium automakers, like Mercedes, that have introduced massive screens that stretch across the majority of the front passenger area. That may help the American brand move upmarket.

With the new tech will come new design for the Nautilus. The attractive crossover has already been revealed in China, where photos published by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology show that the vehicle will come with an elegant new exterior.

Those images revealed that, like the screen, the Nautilus’ headlights will stretch across the width of the front fascia, turning up and the ends with flicks that look like eyelashes. Flush mounted door handles, darkened A-pillars, and smooth, unfussy body lines all contribute to make the upcoming crossover look like a legitimate premium offering.

Little is known about what will go under the hood, but the grille on the Chinese model would suggest that at least some models will be powered by internal combustion engines. However, reports suggest that an all-electric variant will start rolling off the assembly line in 2025.

We will find out more about all of that on Monday, April 17, when Lincoln fully reveals the all-new 2024 Nautilus.
