Nismo has introduced a new “Sports Resetting” for the 2024 Nissan GT-R and GT-R Nismo in Japan.

Essentially an optimized ECM, the Type 1 Sports Resetting is for the GT-R Nismo and it costs ¥270,000 ($2,020 / £1,632 / €1,861) before taxes. The company didn’t say much about it, but noted the speed limiter is “changed.” This suggests the top speed has been increased, but there’s no word on how fast the car can go.

The Type 2 Sports Resetting is for the mainstream GT-R and it will set you back ¥310,000 ($2,320 / £1,874 / €2,137) before taxes. While it’s more expensive, Nismo said it’s designed to allow for faster driving and “more fun on the circuit.” In order to deliver this, the ECM allows the engine to produce “improved torque in the medium and low speed range.”

The improved performance is due to boost pressure modifications and Nismo said drivers can expect improved acceleration. That isn’t the only change as the ECM also provides a new shift logic and faster gear changes.

The Sports Resetting for the 2024 Nissan GT-R will be available this summer and prices include inspections and labor. However, you apparently don’t get the stock ECM back as Nismo says they “collect” it.

As a refresher, the 2024 GT-R receives a host of minor updates including revised fascias, an updated grille, new fog lights, and improved aerodynamics. The GT-R Nismo goes a step further with a new rear wing as well as a new front lip, rear diffuser, and canards.

The standard model is powered by a familiar twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 engine that develops 565 hp (421 kW / 573 PS) and 467 lb-ft (632 Nm) of torque. The Nismo improves on those numbers with an output of 600 hp (447 kW / 608 PS) and 481 lb-ft (651 Nm) of torque.
