The records continue to fall as the Rimac Nevera is now the fastest production electric car to lap the Nürburgring.

At The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, Rimac revealed Croatian racing driver Martin Kodrić used a Nevera – equipped with Michelin Cup2R tires – to lap the Green Hell in 7:05.298 with timing confirmed by on-board telemetry as well as TÜV SÜD. That easily beats the time posted by the Tesla Model S Plaid, which set a record earlier this year when it lapped the track in 7:25.231.

Kodrić said “The fact that the Nevera can achieve this kind of speed on track, when it’s been developed to be a comfortable hyper GT for the road, is what makes it so special. It’s such a well-rounded piece of engineering and design; gentle and usable in the city, thrilling to drive on twisting B-roads, comfortable over long distances and devastatingly fast on a race track.”

New Time Attack Special Edition Celebrates A Year Of Broken Records

To celebrate the accomplishment as well as 20+ other broken records, Rimac introduced the Nevera Time Attack Edition in California. All 12 units have already been spoken for and each wears a livery inspired by the car that set each of the achievements in the past year.

The first special edition has a Squadron Black exterior with Lightning Green accents and a pair of stripes that run front to back. Rimac said “this bespoke shade of Lightning Green is inspired by a peculiar weather phenomenon that happens before a storm, when charged ionized particles give the sky a beautiful, powerful vivid green hue. It’s a visible warning of the power about to be unleashed.” More than that, the color is a homage to Mate Rimac’s e-M3, which was named the fastest accelerating electric vehicle in 2012.

As for the rest of the special editions, they’ll have a Squadron Black or an exposed carbon fiber body with colorful accents and a rear wing that says “Dedicated to those coming after us.” The special touches continue inside with black Alcantara upholstery that contrasts with colorful accents that match those outside. Buyers will also find “Time Attack” badging on the seats as well as an engraved “Time Attack: 1 of 12” plaque.
