Audi is encouraging its customers who have placed an order for a new vehicle to switch to a model already in stock and in exchange, the automaker will pay up to $2,500 for any difference in MSRP.

The company announced the program in a dealer bulletin, referring to it as the ‘Sold Order Alternative Vehicle Customer Support’ program. It wants to encourage shoppers to select a vehicle already in stock that is of equal or higher value than the model they have ordered.

Cars Direct notes the program is available for most of the Audi range, except for those who have ordered an A3, Q3, Q4 e-tron, or an R8. Customers will be pleased to know they’ll be eligible regardless of whether they have purchased their vehicle outright or are leasing it. The program can be combined with other promos and will run through until February 29.

Audi Will Pay You Up To $2,500 To Ditch Your Pre-Order For In-Stock Cars

This isn’t the first time Audi has run an interesting promo in the U.S. The automaker frequently offers special discounts to Costco members through the Costco Auto Program. Last year, members could purchase an A3, S3, A4, S4, Q3, Q5, SQ5, Q5 Sportback, SQ5 Sportback, Q5 TFSI e, Q8, and SQ8 with a $1,000 discount while select other models were available with a $1,500 discount. Costco members shopping the top of the Audi range were able to snatch a $5,000 discount on A8, S8, e-Tron GT, and RS e-Tron GT models.

Speaking of the e-Tron GT, Audi is currently working on a facelifted version which should debut later this year. We recently spotted a camouflaged prototype being put through its paces and like the refreshed Taycan, the styling tweaks between the outgoing e-Tron GT and the new one will be minor. Among the most obvious changes will be altered front and rear bumpers. More significant changes are expected under the skin, including a larger battery pack and more powerful electric motors.
