- BMW is planning to unveil an assortment of new models at Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este next month.

- BMW will also unveil their 20th art car as well as celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Z8.
We’re roughly a month away from Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and it’s already shaping up to be a major event. BMW will take a central role not only as a supporter, but as an active participant as the company is planning to unveil a host of new models.
The automaker is playing coy on specifics, but teased “vehicle premieres ranging from a sporty one of a kind with a maritime twist to rock ’n’ roll on two wheels.” This suggests we can expect a new concept as well as a motorcycle from BMW Motorrad.

If that wasn’t exciting enough, the automaker noted “BMW M is traditionally represented by an array of new products around the Concorso locations.” The company didn’t elaborate, but rumors recently suggested the M4 CS would debut in May, which happens to be the same month as the classic car show.
Speaking of BMW M, CEO Franciscus van Meel will join abstract painter Julie Mehretu to unveil the 20th BMW art car. She’s creating a unique look for the BMW M Hybrid V8 race car that will be competing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.
Furthermore, BMW will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Z8. Designed by Henrik Fisker, the iconic model drew inspiration from the classic 507 and featured an aluminum-intensive design as well as a removable hardtop. The car was an instant collectable and less than 6,000 were made.
The Z8 famously starred in the James Bond flick The World Is Not Enough, where it got cut in half by a saw carrying helicopter. While the model didn’t get a happy ending, at least it made a more memorable impression than the Z3 in GoldenEye.
Bond movies aside, BMW said the “legendary roadster will feature at the Concorso in a variety of ways.” Hopefully that means something along the lines of the BMW Zagato Coupe, which debuted at the event in 2012.
