Toyota has broadened the offerings of the Crown Crossover in Japan by introducing the Landscape special edition as part of its minor updates for the 2024 model year. Positioned as the most adventurous and premium variant of the hybrid crossover, this edition boasts several off-road enhancements, enhancing its suitability for outdoor activities.
The Crown Landscape draws inspiration from the Crown Outdoor Concept, which made its debut last year. While some features have been adjusted for production, owners can achieve a look quite similar to the concept by adding a few optional accessories.

Given that most buyers won’t take the Crown on extreme off-roading courses, Toyota opted for a more subtle setup in terms of wheels. Still, the 245/60R18 all-terrain tires wrapped around the custom 18-inch rims offer enough grip for challenging terrains.
Furthermore, the special edition sits 25 mm (1 inch) higher than the standard Crown Crossover, thanks to the raised suspension. According to Toyota, the increased ground clearance is beneficial not only for avoiding obstacles but also for a higher driving position and better visibility.

Besides the new wheels and the raised stance, the Crown Landscape features wider bolt-on fender extensions finished in “Gori Gori Black” paint. The color combination of Urban Khaki and Black for the exterior mirrors that of the concept.
Similarly, the production model benefits from red mud flaps, a towing hitch, and larger fog lights at the back. There is also an optional roof rack, although the roof basket shown in the press photos is an aftermarket accessory. The only thing that is missing to replicate the concept’s stance is the extra LED bars on the hood and roof.
Interior modifications are limited to gold “Landscape” lettering on the dashboard, and 60:40 split folding rear seats for carrying longer items like surfboards.

There are no changes on the electrified powertrain of the Crown Crossover RS which serves as a base for the Landscape special edition. The 2.4-liter gasoline engine is combined with dual electric motors producing a combined 268 hp (200 kW / 272 PS). Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox and Toyota’s electronic “E-Four Advanced” system.
The Toyota Crown Crossover RS Landscape is exclusively available in Japan for a limited time, since production is scheduled to end on December 2024. The special edition is priced at ¥6,850,000 ($45,262), with another ¥44,990 ($297) required for the roof rack. This makes it the most expensive version of the Crown Crossover in Japan, costing a whooping ¥2,450,000 ($16,181) more than the entry-level X, but only ¥150,000 ($990) more than the full-spec RS which got a hefty price bump for 2024 due to added equipment.
