- More than 200,000 Ford and Lincoln models are being recalled in the U.S.
- All three recalls will require dealership visits for cars to be repaired.
- Ford will need to replace the entire passenger airbag module for one recall.
The pace of Ford’s recalls isn’t letting up anytime soon. Shortly after the automaker claimed the top spot for most number of recalls in the first half of the year, three new actions were issued within a span of just three days. On the bright side, two of them affect only a combined total of 176 vehicles.

The first and most significant of the recalls, however, involves an estimated 200,061 vehicles in the United States. Ford says that an error in the SYNC infotainment system could cause a blank image to be displayed while reversing, or the rear-view image may remain on display even after a driver has stopped reversing.
The largest and most consequential recall involves an estimated 200,061 vehicles in the United States. According to Ford, a fault in the SYNC infotainment system may cause the rear-view camera to malfunction. In some cases, the image might go completely blank when the car is in reverse.
In others, the rear-view feed might stay on the screen even after the vehicle has shifted out of reverse. Some affected owners may also encounter issues with software updates or find incorrect language settings on the display.
Widespread Impact Across Model Lineup
A surprisingly wide range of models are impacted. These include the 2018-2022 Transit Connect, 2019-2020 MKZ, Edge, Continental, F-150, Nautilus, Fusion, 2019-2023 Ranger, Mustang, 2020-2021 EcoSport, Expedition, Navigator, 2020-2022 Escape, F-250 SD, Corsair, 2020-2023 Aviator, Transit, 2020-2024 Explorer, 2021-2024 Bronco Sport, and 2022-2024 Maverick.
Frustratingly for owners, the fix will require a visit to a Ford or Lincoln dealership, where a new SYNC 3 infotainment system will need to be installed.
Two Other Recalls
Then there are the two other recalls. The first is for the 2025 Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition models, impacting a total of 171 vehicles. In this case, Ford says the passenger airbag may contain an internal mesh filter with the incorrect thickness. These could cause an increase in airbag pressure or velocity when deployed, potentially leading to injury.
The airbag in question comes from ZF, and the entire airbag module will need to be replaced.
Ford’s final recall issued in June was for the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning, although it only impacts five examples. The company states that the front brake jounce hose bracket screws may loosen and detach, potentially causing the jounce hose to contact the tire and resulting in brake fluid leakage. Dealers will need to inspect the front brake hose and replace both bracket screws if needed.
