Update: Bugatti has shared official teasers confirming earlier reports about a one-off homage to the Veyron that will debut on January 22
Bugatti isn’t done revisiting its past just yet. Following the one-off Brouillard that launched its Solitaire program, the brand is now turning its attention to a car that changed the rules and effectively gave birth to the hypercar segment. That car, of course, is the Veyron. Bugatti has released a series of teasers for a new one-off that pays tribute to the machine that started it all.

Through a series of short social media clips, Bugatti has begun lifting the curtain on what it calls a “one-of-one masterpiece.” The silhouette, mirrors, and greenhouse all mirror the original Veyron, as do the distinctive alloy wheels.
The teasers are awash in red lighting, but the details visible so far closely match those of the first production-spec Veyron. That original model wore the signature two-tone red and black paint, paired with a beige interior and subtle aluminum accents.
A Veyron With the Chiron Engine
Among the unique touches is a special emblem marking the Veyron’s 20th anniversary, but the real headliner sits in the engine bay. There, Bugatti has fitted the most potent version of its quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine, pushing out a formidable 1,578 horsepower (1,177 kW / 1,600 PS).
It’s the same powertrain used in the Chiron Super Sport, Chiron Pur Sport, Bolide, Centodieci, Mistral, and the recent Brouillard.
That output makes this the most powerful Veyron-based model ever to emerge from Molsheim, eclipsing the Super Sport and Grand Sport Vitesse, which topped out at 1,184 hp (882 kW / 1,200 PS) using an earlier version of the same engine.
It’s still unclear whether Bugatti’s engineers have reworked the Veyron’s chassis, suspension, or braking system, potentially drawing from the more advanced hardware developed for the Chiron.
Limited As In One Example
Bugatti has confirmed that its Solitaire program will produce no more than two one-off creations per year. Each will be built on existing chassis and powertrain foundations, a limitation that shapes the scope of what this anniversary model can be.

The one-off creation is set to make its official debut on January 22, 2026, marking exactly 20 years since the first production Veyron left Molsheim. It will then go on display at the inaugural Ultimate Supercar Garage event, which runs from January 29 to February 1 alongside Retromobile Paris.
While Bugatti isn’t revealing much, it’s safe to assume that the car carries a stratospheric price tag and has already been claimed by a well-connected collector with a long-standing relationship with the marque.
The Veyron’s Legacy
The Veyron marked a turning point not just for Bugatti, but for the automotive world at large. It entered production in 2005 after years of conceptual teasing, realizing Ferdinand Piech’s grand dream: a hypercar that could be the fastest in the world without sacrificing comfort, reliability, or luxury.

It brought several world firsts to series production, most notably becoming the first road car with 1,000 horsepower and the ability to exceed 249 mph (400 km/h).
Over its decade-long run, Bugatti built 450 examples in various configurations, each pushing the edge of performance engineering. While both the Chiron (2016–2024) and the new Tourbillon (2025–present) have since taken performance to even higher levels, the Veyron remains the brand’s most defining model.
Bugatti marked the 20th anniversary of the Veyron during its “Soirée de Noël” event in December 2025 at the Molsheim headquarters, calling it “a milestone in hypercar history.” Guests received miniature red-painted Veyrons as keepsakes, and a Bugatti designer sketched the model directly onto the dinner table.
More recently, the automaker shared snapshots from the development of the Veyron, showing early prototypes being tested on the ice, the desert, and the track. These had a few differences with the final production model, with the most notable being a vent behind the front wheels.
We’ll be keeping an eye on Bugatti’s social channels for any new glimpses or details as the Veyron makes its way back into the spotlight.
