• Mitsubishi announced a Delica Festival with 11 display vehicles.
  • Lineup includes Ultimate Gear, Camper, and Wild Adventure trims.
  • Delica Mini gets retro Pajero face from Damd styling package.

Mitsubishi is gearing up for a major showing at the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon, centering its display around modified takes on the freshly facelifted Delica Mini and Delica D:5. Despite renewed speculation about the Pajero’s return, especially after the recent teaser, the brand has chosen to stay silent on that front for now. Instead, its focus is set on what it’s calling the “Delica Festival.”

The first thing visitors are likely to notice is a slightly aggressive, wide-eyed character perched on the Delica Mini’s roof rack. Meet Delimaru, the official mascot of the kei car. The “Delimaru Festa” concept gets dressed in a black, white, and red color scheme and rides on retro-style wheels.

Ultimate Gear, Active Camper, and Wild Adventure Pairs

Next up are the “Ultimate Gear” editions of both the Delica Mini and D:5. These concepts lean heavily into a rugged, go-anywhere look, featuring matte black accents on the cladding and tail, along with a bold two-tone finish. Bull bars, beadlock-style wheels with off-road rubber, lift kits, and LED-packed roof racks round out the overland-ready upgrades.

Also on display are the “Active Camper” versions of the same duo. The D:5 is finished in a white birch wood-grain wrap, paired with a brown cabin and fitted with a front bumper protector, chunky off-road wheels, and an awning. The Delica Mini brings even more camping-specific gear, including a pop-up roof, an LED bar, mud flaps, a compact skid bar, and a portable side awning.

The “Wild Adventure Style” Delicas bring things a bit closer to what buyers in Japan can actually option for themselves. These concepts are outfitted with genuine Mitsubishi accessories available through official channels. The D:5 features a flat roof carrier, mud flaps, and a stainless steel rear skid plate, while the Mini wears camouflage decals, a smaller roof rack, and red mud flaps

Another highlight will be a Delica Mini fitted with the Dali styling kit by Japanese tuner Damd. The kei car benefits from redesigned grille and round headlights inspired by the classic Mitsubishi Pajero, combined with custom decals, a roof basket and aftermarket wheels.

The motorsport side of the lineup is anchored by Mitsubishi’s championship-winning Ralliart Triton AXCR, the rally truck that claimed the overall title at the 2025 Asia Cross Country Rally. On display alongside it will be the Delica D:5 ACXR support vehicle and a special Delica Mini dressed in matching livery to mark Tomica’s 55th anniversary.

There’s some hope that Mitsubishi’s press conference at Makuhari Messe on January 9 will bring news about the Pajero, possibly clarifying the identity of the lightly camouflaged SUV prototype shown in the recent anniversary clip.
