- Suzuki Australia has announced a new Jimny Rhino Special Edition.
- It is based on the five-door Jimny XL with Rhino stickers on the profile.
- It also gets new wheels and a bi-tone shade from the three-door model.
The current generation of the Jimny might be eight years old but it remains the most popular Suzuki in Australia. Instead of resting on its laurels, the local arm of the automaker is working on a new special edition with “distinctive markings and physical adaptations” helping it conquer the wildest terrain.
The “unique beast” dubbed the Jimny Rhino Special Edition was shown in official teasers looking like photos of rare endangered species. Unlike the earlier Rhino Edition from Malaysia, the Australian model is based on the five-door Jimny XL.

The highlight of the exterior is the stickers on the profile featuring the rhino emblem and retro stripes. Those are more prominent than the similar decals found on the Heritage Editions of the Jimny and the Jimny XL from 2023 and 2024 respectively. The teaser doesn’t show the grille but does reveal the standard headlights
Another cool touch is the new wheels with a more rugged design and a dark finish. The bodywork appears to be painted in the Kinetic Yellow shade which was the launch color of the fourth-generation Jimny combined with a Bluish Black Pearl roof. This option is not available for the Jimny XL in Australia, as it is limited on the three-door model.
It is unclear whether the special edition will get any unique touches inside the cabin such as different floor mats or additional rhino emblems. The Jimny XL comes standard with a 9-inch infotainment, the Dual Camera Brake Support System, and rear parking sensors.

The underpinnings will most likely be carried over from the Jimny XL, including the naturally-aspirated 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 101 hp (75 kW / 102 PS) and the AllGrip Pro 4WD system. It remains to be seen whether the Rhino will offer the option between a five-speed manual and an automatic, or it will follow the example of the manual-only Heritage editions.
Suzuki is currently accepting applications of interest from prospective buyers Down Under that want to be “among the first to see Jimny Rhino Special Edition up close”. The model will likely be available in limited numbers, priced above the regular Jimny XL which starts at AU$ 40,490 (US$ 29,000) drive-away.
Michael Pachota, General Manager of Suzuki Australia, said: “The Jimny community in Australia is thriving so yes, news of any new Jimny is hugely exciting”.
