- Painted in Jaspis Green Metallic, this 1992 Scirocco GT II catches the eye.

The 1992 Volkswagen Scirocco you’re looking at here is a strong candidate for the lowest-mileage example anywhere in the world, and for anyone who has held a quiet candle for VW’s wedge-shaped hatch, the search may be over.
Finished in Jaspis Green Metallic, this Scirocco is a GT II that has covered roughly 2,200 km (1,400 miles) in its 34-year life. Most Sciroccos of this vintage were sold, driven hard, and worked into the ground. This one took a different path, sitting in a German showroom for more than a decade before anyone took the keys.
Registered in 2003, Preserved Ever Since

The Bring a Trailer listing reveals the car wasn’t registered to its first owner until 2003 and, evidently, it’s been well kept ever since. In addition to sporting almost perfect paint, it continues to sit on the original 14-inch alloy wheels.

Just like the exterior, the cabin is pristine. No doubt the highlights are the multi-colored, patterned fabric seats, which perfectly complement the dramatic paintwork and give the car a real sense of fun. Key original features like the cassette stereo have been retained, and there’s even a small sunroof.

As for power, this Scirocco runs a 1.8-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder good for 90 hp and 100 lb-ft (136 Nm) of torque driving the front wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. The last service was in 2023, and any winning bidder planning to actually drive it would be wise to book another one before turning a wheel. Machinery left to sit for years rarely thanks you for it.
The auction has generated quite a lot of interest since the Scirocco was posted online, including from some potentially interested in importing it into the United States. As the car is more than 25 years old, shipping it to the US should be fairly easy, though it could add upwards of $5,000 to the final sale price.
Whether this 1992 Scirocco ends up in a German collection or on a boat to the States, someone is about to own a piece of hot-hatch history. Take a look at the full listing on Bring a Trailer here.
