• The racer features a 3.4-liter naturally aspirated V8 producing 320 hp.
  • A bright orange paint scheme takes inspiration from the General Lee.
  • Ferrari stripped out the car’s interior and added new racing brakes.

While taking your streetcar onto the track is fun, there’s nothing quite like having a race-prepped supercar to use for track days. That’s exactly what we have here, and if you have the money, this 1994 Ferrari 348 TB could prove to be the perfect track toy.

It is one of just 32 examples Ferrari prepared in-house for the 348 Challenge Series, the single-make racing program that gave the marque’s customers somewhere to actually use the car. This one ran under the Ferrari of Houston banner in the States, and despite being built to compete, it kept its license plates.

Admittedly, the tweaks to turn it into a race car do impact its usability. For example, it has no side windows or air conditioning. In addition, the interior has been stripped out and includes OMP Alcantara-clad bucket seats and a full roll cage. There’s even a fire suppression system, which isn’t (usually…) needed on the street, but could be useful on the track.

A Custom Exhaust, And A Wild Paint Job

Among the key changes made to get the car racetrack-ready were the fitment of a custom exhaust system, new brakes, distinctive 18-inch wheels, and a coat of orange paint, giving it the ‘01’ painted on the doors and making it look like an Italian General Lee.

Power comes from a 3.4-liter naturally aspirated V8 producing 320 hp and 239 lb-ft (324 Nm) of torque, mated to a five-speed manual transmission that drives the rear wheels. It received a major service in 2021 that included the fitment of a new timing belt, alternator belt, fuel filter, front crankshaft seal, oil lines, oxygen sensors, and new fluids.

The car currently has 10,500 miles (about 16,900 km) on the odometer, of which roughly 1,500 miles (2,414 km) have been added over the past three years under the seller’s ownership. If you want to get behind the wheel of it, head over to the Cars & Bids auction over here before it’s too late.
