Software plays a big role in the user experience and General Motors has announced a series of updates based on customer feedback. These are mostly minor quality of life improvements, but there are some welcome developments.
One of the biggest is the addition of larger touch targets for frequently used controls. This should largely eliminate ‘missed’ taps and make it easier to operate the infotainment system while driving.

Streaming music has exploded in popularity and a number of people choose it over traditional radio stations. GM is now rewarding those customers with a new side-mounted queue showing upcoming songs. It’s available with select paid subscriptions, which appears to include Spotify. The company also mentioned a dropdown source selector that “lets you effortlessly switch between audio apps.”
If you share your vehicle, it can be a pain adjusting things after your significant other is done using it. GM is making it a tad easier by allowing owners to link up to two user profiles to seat memory buttons. In effect, you’ll be able to pair two seat profiles to each of the two memory seat buttons, and easily swap which profile is tied to the 1 and 2 buttons.
Sticking with seats, GM has added new on-screen graphics that mirror the look of the physical seat controls on the door. This makes them easier to understand at a glance.
Electric vehicle owners will also find simplified charging notifications. They’re joined by revised labels and descriptions that are designed to make things easier to understand.
Rounding out the highlights are sharper graphics and text for head-up displays, and an improved Bluetooth setup process that eliminates one step.
The changes are part of an over-the-air update that is rolling out to an assortment of 2025-26 models including the CT5, Lyriq, Optiq, and Vistiq. However, some updates will apparently expand beyond the Cadillac lineup including the seat memory profiles.
Later on, there will be an updated Home screen with a split layout sporting a larger, interactive map. This will allow owners to “search destinations, plan routes, and navigate without leaving the home screen.”
The upcoming changes will also usher in streamlined personalization. In particular, owners will get “one-tap access to customize both large and small widgets.”
