Mini’s special edition bonanza continues as the company has introduced the new Rooftop Editions. They’re the fifth in a series of eight new limited editions coming this year.
Based on the Cooper S 2-Door and Cooper S 4-Door, the special editions are named after the company’s popular contrasting roof and feature a “color-flipped design.”

One version has an Indigo Sunset Blue Metallic body, which is joined by Melting Silver III Metallic on the roof and mirror caps. The other is the opposite as it has a Melting Silver III Metallic body as well as an Indigo Sunset Blue Metallic roof and mirrors. The colorful designs are accompanied by contrasting hood and hatch stripes.
The interior largely carries over, but the special edition comes equipped with John Cooper Works sport seats featuring “Mini” badging on the backrests. We can also see a Vescin Black interior with contrast stitching on the steering wheel as well as blue accents on the dashboard.
Speaking of equipment, the special edition features 17-inch wheels, piano black exterior trim, and power front seats with an active driver seat. The special edition is based on the Iconic Trim with the Comfort Package Plus, which adds adaptive cruise control with stop and go, augmented reality navigation, and Parking Assist Plus. Other highlights include an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a wireless smartphone charger, a Harman Kardon premium audio system, and a keyless entry system.
Power is provided by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine developing 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) and 221 lb-ft (299 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which enables the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in as little as 6.3 seconds
Pricing starts at $39,995 before a $1,350 destination fee and deliveries are expected to begin in October. The 4-Door version is slightly more expensive as it costs $40,995 before destination.
