A shocking accident that took place at the 2013 Gran Turismo Polonia race in Poznan, western Poland, on Sunday, when the driver of Koenigsegg CCX supercar lost control and smashed into the crowd, left at least 17 people injured, according to reports from local news stations.

In a number of videos that surfaced online right after the accident, we see that the powerful mid-engined Swedish supercar was accelerating on an open stretch of road, but for some reason, the CCX’s rear end started to dance right and left, with the driver being unable to control the car that broke through a barrier and hit the spectators.

The same driver, who is reportedly from Norway, was filmed seconds before the accident attempting to drift around a corner unsuccessfully, which has led some viewers to question his experience behind the wheel of such a powerful car, though; police are still investigating the crash.

Thankfully, no one was killed, but four out of the 17 spectators hit by the car sustained serious injuries.
