Comedy website Funny or Die has released a five-minute video which pokes fun at the BMW i3’s limited driving range compared to what a Lexus CT200h hybrid has to offer.

The video depicts a group of men who take a 302-mile (486-km) trip from Van Nuys, California to Las Vegas, Nevada to have a “Dad’Chelor” party – which would be a party thrown by a man before the birth of his first child.

Shot as a commercial for the Lexus CT200h, the video obviously favors the Japanese hybrid over the BMW i3 EV, which is made to look quite stupid. But why would anyone want to take a 302-mile trip in an electric vehicle that has a driving range of 78 miles (125 km)?

Obviously not a lot of thought was put into that, not to mention that the i3 also offers a range extender option which… extends range by a further 60 miles (96 km). Still, the video is worth watching even just for the way characters react to EV range anxiety.
