2016 New York Auto Show Recap With 410 Images

After a couple of days dedicated to the Press corps (or is it hordes?), visitors are welcome to the Jacob K. Javits convention center in NYC until April 3.

Each automaker has his range present and accounted for in his New York Auto Show stand – it’s the debuts, both world and North American, though that steal the, um, show.

Events like this would be unthinkable without concept cars, yet in New York their number was limited. That said, Genesis’ 3-Series fighter, Lincoln’s next Navigator and Toyota’s revamped Corolla all preview models that are on their way and are not mere flights of designers’ fancy.

As for the here and now, sports car lovers will be drawn to the mighty Camaro ZL1 that debuted in coupe and convertible guise simultaneously, the R8 Spyder, 911 R, revamped GT-R and, last but in no way least, the MX-5 RF.

America loves its SUVs and, in New York, the headliners are premium ones, namely Merc’s GLC Coupe, Acura’s new MDX and Maserati’s Levante; we bet the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk will be no less popular though. Apart from the new Impreza, family cars are not that big this year, at least not the conventional ones. It’s the “green” ones, like Toyota’s redesigned Prius Prime and, more importantly, the Hyundai Ioniq triplets that are of greater importance.

Whether you plan to attend or not, you can roam through the large gallery of live images that follows right after the break.
