BMW‘s latest study, the 2002 Hommage, has had its pixels reorganized to give us an idea on how it could look like with a chopped-off roof.

Responsible for giving the concept an open-top view of the sky is X-Tomi who, besides making it more posh, also decided to give it a few extra touches, such as a new antenna, replacing the original shark-fin unit, along with what seems to be a smaller boot lid spoiler.

We can’t see the interior, which was kept a secret by BMW on the show car introduced over the weekend at Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, where it managed to attract a lot of camera flashes and even more curious looks, along with its predecessor, the classic 2002.

The Hommage Concept is based on the M2 Coupe and takes inspiration from the 1973 2002 Turbo with similarly shaped lighting units on both ends, but unlike its predecessor, which came with a 2.0-liter four-banger, the study is believed to retain the 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine from the standard M2, which is capable of churning out 370 PS (365 HP) and 465 Nm (343 lb-ft) of torque, in standard form.
