Tesla Model 3 Prototype Spotted Outside Design Studio

If you’re unfamiliar with Unplugged Performance, they specialize in upgrading Tesla models, developing anything from sporty body kits to custom wheels and even interior modifications.

Their offices are also located right next to the Tesla Design Studio, which is why they managed to spot this Model 3 prototype out and about right across from them.

While pilot production on the Model 3 is said to have begun on February 20th, as far as we can tell, this prototype is identical to the ones presented last year, and it might even be this same car spotted on the road back in April.

As for any possible spoilers regarding the production-ready car, there’s not much to say aside from the fact that we can now see where the blinkers are positioned within the taillight graphics.

We can also spot the minimalist interior from afar, with that giant display in the middle of the completely flat upper dashboard. There were rumors regarding the Model 3 getting an advanced heads-up display, but we obviously can’t see anything of that nature in this clip.

Also, according to a recent report, the first customers to take delivery of a Model 3 will be those living in the vicinity of the Fremont factory, but not before Tesla employees get their cars first.

  • Better Styling, Please

Looks like a junior Model X…not a good thing.

    • eb110americana

I was thinking the same thing. In my head, it was a smaller Model S, but out in the real world, it does look more like a Jr. Model X. The greenhouse proportions seem exceptionally tall. I am sure the underfloor batteries aren’t helping any, but if the glass was slimmer, particularly around the B-pillar, that would help some.

    • BqWsRe

Agree. Model X is dated and boring

  • Tumbi Mtika

With designs like these, who needs the Model Y?

  • WG

Every time I look at the front, the design reminds of a dolphin head. No offense, I just think it’s interesting, and the design’s pretty unique.

    This isn’t “spotted”.

“…our Model 3 orders are in. Is yours?…”

  • Knotmyrealname

OK, honest question again. What is that giant pipe? And, I just google earthed to try and find it and discovered what a post-apocalyptic Cali would look like. Where are all the cars?

    • Rasputin

      Hyperloop scam test pipe.

      • Knotmyrealname

Aaaah, OK, and that’s where all the car drivers have gone too…..

  • BqWsRe

Same car. Tesla is way behind in Model 3 development.

Sat in a Model X the other day. Not worth $130,000.

  • KidRed

The cabin is too bubbly. It’s a small, cartoony version of the Model X. I’d rather a small slick version of the Model S. Sigh, what a shame.

    • Sébastien

well people complained about head space in ModelS, so to be a decent ride sharing car, Model3 kind of had to go this way
