Rare Ferrari F12tdf Destroyed By Fire On German Autobahn

A Ferrari F12tdf has been destroyed after catching fire on the German Autobahn between the towns of Dierdorf and Neuwied.

Local media outlet General Anzeiger Bonn reports that the two occupants of the limited edition Italian supercar heard a bang when driving. Shortly after, they noticed flames rising from the rear of the car, prompting the driver to pull over to the side of the road.

Despite immediately alerting the fire department as soon as the blaze started, the F12tdf was totally destroyed by the time authorities arrived at around 8:45 am to extinguish the flames.

Upon analyzing the charred remains of the supercar, investigators believe some kind of engine failure was responsible for the inferno.

Production of the F12tdf was capped to just 799 units worldwide and used examples fetch over $1 million apiece. Power comes from a naturally-aspirated 6.3-liter V12 delivering 770 hp at 8,500 rpm and 520 lb-ft of torque at 6,750 rpm.
