Jaguar XK180 Concept Replica Will Cost You A Pretty Penny

Unless you’re a billionaire with close ties to a carmaker, you’re unlikely to ever have the opportunity of purchasing a one-off concept. Fortunately, Jaguar enthusiasts can now do the next best thing, buying a Jaguar XK180 recreation.

Jaguar unveiled the eye-popping supercar concept at the 1999 Paris Motor Show as a way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the XK. Sadly, the vehicle never made it to production but that hasn’t stopped a company based in the Netherlands from bringing the XK180 back to life.

The company, Autobedrijf de Koning BV, claims to be offering accurate recreations of the XK180, based around the XKR. The car pictured is reportedly the first example built and has a steep 235,000 euro ($272,000) asking price on Mobile.

Based on the images available, the car appears to be almost identical to the real thing and even includes a very similar interior. In fact, we’d probably be fooled into thinking it’s the one-off concept if we ever saw one of these clones on the road.

Thanks to Christian for the tip!

I have a Die-cast scale model by Maisto of this concept same color, in my room,,, i bought it in 2011 and just kept it there on the shelf on top of some old university books!

Maybe it’s time you dust it off.

Are you saying that i could sell it? lol

    You welcome Carscoop…

For the money, the price is quite reasonable. I do have a problem with the front air dam. It is unsightly and spoils everything. A better solution should be created so that this doesn’t ruin what was a great Concept for its era.

Who takes a 20 year old car (worth $$15K) and spends $260K to make it look worse than it’s original design. Why not have an F-Type SVR and save $160K.

They probably won’t sell a lot of them, even at this price. Being based on an actual Concept Car and authentic Jaguar mechanical’s, this could be quite collectable in the future. It is hard to argue this isn’t unique. A lot of Jaguar enthusiasts wanted it built, when it debuted. As there is a market for a car like this. Now that Jaguar going fully electric in the not too distant future… Buying a car like this may be a good investment.

Absolutely amazing. I like the idea too, we should have more concept cars replicas based on production cars. Since concept cars are so promising and their road going counterpart ends up to be disappointing, wouldn’t it be great to create a concept replica? For istance, you could get yourself a Fiat 124 and give it a new body to look like the Pininfarina 2uettottanta Concept.

I always think that the Jaguar F-Type concept from 2000, was better looking and proportioned than this one:
