Blindly Changing Lanes At Speed Is Always A Bad Idea

Regardless of how good or bad of a driver you are, one factor is always key in determining your next decision on the road, and that’s visibility.

This guy had none. Coming in from the third lane and cutting across to the first with that large semi in the way was a horrible decision, even if his motivation was to not miss an exit or perhaps to pull into a nearby gas station.

The fact remains that if you can’t see where you’re going, you’re opening yourself up to all sorts of risks that might cause you as well as other people harm.

As far as we can tell, a total of three cars were damaged, not including the second-generation Opel Astra that caused the accident in the first place.

Here’s to hoping people weren’t seriously injured. Also, it’s probably a good thing that the driver of the Astra managed to avoid running in the back of the first vehicle impacted. By maneuvering between the car and the semi, the driver at fault managed to cut down on his speed before the inevitable happened.
