Mustang Owners Shut Down San Francisco’s Bay Bridge To Do Donuts

San Francisco’s Bay Bridge isn’t as famous as the Golden Gate, but the Metropolitan Transportation Commission notes it’s a “workhorse bridge” that is used by more than 45 million vehicles every year.

The vital artery, which connects San Francisco and Oakland, was recently brought to a screeching halt thanks to some idiots who wanted to show off. According to the Mercury News and the California Highway Patrol, at approximately 10:45 am on Sunday, several cars blocked traffic on the bridge so two Mustangs could do donuts.

Unsurprisingly, this caused a flood of phones call to police. While one of the drivers was taken into custody for reckless driving and exhibition of speed, the other drivers seem to have gotten off with a slap on the wrist. The Mercury News says most were cited for “mechanical violations,” while one driver had their car impounded because they didn’t have a license.

The driver of the Mustang convertible was arrested and will have their car impounded for 30 days. The charges could land him in jail for up to three months for reckless driving and an additional 90 days for exhibition of speed. That’s on top of fines and the potential for community service.

It remains unclear if the drivers will learn their lesson, but this isn’t the first time someone has been arrested for doing donuts on the Bay Bridge. Back in 2016, the driver of another Mustang was charged with reckless driving and street racing.

This can be real? A Mustang drifting ? Nah mate, not in this universe…

    • Хиллари сосет киску

      How is this a crime????

  • Jay

Just amazed at least one didn’t drift or slide off the side of the bridge.

    • Knotmyrealname

Or hit something else. Must be some kind of record.

  • Craig

I wonder if they will learn their lesson? HA! Are you kidding?

  • cooper

Would have been sweet to see one of those impotent little boys fly off the bridge. Natural selection will happen soon enough.

    • Хиллари сосет киску

Impotent? What were your eyes looking at in that video?

  • pcurve

How long did they stick around for them have been arrested ON the bridge? Just do a dozen loops, gtfo, and everyone is happy.

  • Paul

They had to make a prolonged show of it and stick around long enough to get busted. Real Smart.

  • Bo Hanan

SHUT DOWN LONG ENOUGH FOR ANGRY COMMUTERS TO CALL THE POLICE AND ENSURE THEY’LL BE WAITING FOR THE IDIOTS AT THE OTHER SIDE. BRAVO!

  • OIST AV

Nice! A little anarchy to poke the sleeping masses.

    • ChrisInIL

      These were just run-of-the-mill idiots.

Anarchists wouldn’t crave the attention these morons sought and got.

  • Wandering_Spirit

Attention craving syndrome in some places is becoming a pathological problem with consequences on real life.

  • brn

That’s almost as bad as an automotive website, not noticing that one of the vehicles was NOT A MUSTANG.

  • matrem

There were jackasses doing wheelies on mountain bikes going northbound on the Golden Gate Bridge this past Saturday, too.

  • Brent Morrison

You can thank social media. Our kids are doomed.

  • GobbleUp

Revoke license for life and fine their family $1M, teach a holes a lesson. D bags.

  • Bash

    Geeez, mustangs!!!

  • Knotmyrealname

Probably not many rocks laying around a multi lane bridge. But I’m sure a lot of people were looking for one.

  • Bob White

C’mon, they were filming a Ford commercial… Lol

  • ksegg

It’s not a real Mustang vid unless one goes flying off the bridge, kills/maims a crowd, spits on the American flag, and murders children.

  • ksegg

The real question is how did no one throw another Mustang at the Mustang.

  • Matthew Boyd

Yeah that’s not a good idea guys…Hope it was worth it. Hold on, I was supposed to add a joke because it’s Mustangs… Let me see…No pedestrians were hit during the filming of this dull-wittedness act.

  • robotlogic

Simple fix, give them each a $5000 fine and hold their cars as collateral until fines are paid.
