Audi Slides Down A Snowy Hill, Takes A Dodge With It

If you’re driving in the snow and aren’t careful, you could end up like the driver of this Audi A4 Avant and find yourself sliding down a mountain. Not good.

The following video doing the rounds online starts off by showing a white Audi A4 Avant sliding backwards and out of control on a snow-covered road. It’s unclear why the Audi started sliding down the hill nor how it actually got up the hill in the first place. What we do know is that it triggered a rather unfortunate chain of events.

As the Audi slides (rather gracefully we must say) down the hill, it bangs into a blue van. However, that impact wasn’t enough to bring the Audi to a halt as it then rams into a Dodge Durango with enough force to send the Dodge down the hill. As the Audi driver uses the car’s all-wheel drive system to stop it sliding any further, onlookers chase after the Dodge and appear to stop its momentum by gathering at the rear and forcing it to a halt.

Fortunately, it doesn’t appear as though anyone was injured in the carnage. One man in particular helped to ensure no one was hurt by yanking off a female who was clinging to the door of the Audi as it slid down the hill.

The center differential controls the torque split front-to-rear, not side-to-side.

The A4 has open front and rear differentials (like any other car). They are non-limited slip and non-locking. Instead it uses traction control (ABS brake differential control).

Never been there. Just a normal 4WD with a cool name

Why the hell do people think they are strong enough to stop several thousand pounds from sliding down a hill?!

    • Momogg

Because they are stupid enough. 😔

    • brn

      Wishful thinking.

  • Christian

NSFW…. Some might think you’re watching something else with that noise in the beginning… Duno, some Asian adult sit…

    audi quality

  • KAG25

That Audi got some speed coming down that hill, probably a sheet of ice under the snow. Maybe why all the other cars are sitting there.

  • Bo Hanan

That female hanging onto the car is so stupid she sets womanhood back 200 years.
I guess she just decided to hang on to the sliding car, heaven knows why, until a man told her not to.

    • Knotmyrealname

So funny, so true, so un-PC.

      • Bo Hanan

I don’t mean to belay the obvious, but I do.
Sometimes PC breeds ignorance- I think.

        • Knotmyrealname

          I agree. PC-ness is suffocating.

  • Momogg

The driver wanted to jump from his audi? This is incredible of stupidity. 😑

  • Able

Which markets are both the current A4 Avant and that Durango sold?

  • Marty

What are they doing in the mountains in the winter with tires like that? Stay home!

  • Ben

    But…but…Quattro, amirite?

  • Alessio Sa

moral of the story… the audi couldn’t dodge the Dodge and quattro is utterly useless commercialisation, I am driving alfa
