A series of images of the Porsche Taycan have been published online prior to the electric sedan’s impending online debut at 3 PM CEST (9 AM EST) before the Frankfurt Auto Show.

Porsche has been testing Taycan prototypes around the world for a couple of years now and over time, slowly started to strip away their camouflage. Consequently, we’ve slowly been provided with a better look at the vehicle’s Mission E-inspired design. These photos showcase some of the key design elements.

First we have the taillights or more accurately, the taillight, as there is just a single light bar stretching across the rear of the sedan. In addition, we can see the vehicle’s headlight cluster that appears to combine a main light unit with four additional LED lights surrounding it. Then there’s the mirrors.

Electric cars such as the Audi e-tron and Honda E have been launching with rear-facing cameras instead of traditional wing mirrors but that isn’t the case with the Porsche Taycan. This is a little disappointing since the VW Group has the technology to use cameras and screens.

The Porsche Taycan will be sold in a number of different forms with the launch model featuring a pair of electric motors delivering in excess of 592 hp, allowing it to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 3.5 seconds and travel more than 310 miles (500 km) on a single charge in the New European Driving Cycle.

The Taycan recently set a new Nurburgring lap record for four-door electric vehicles racing around the circuit in just 7 minutes and 42 seconds.
