It’s becoming increasingly difficult to get away with anything in the digitized era, as a camera is always recording somewhere nearby. The focus of the lens in this case was on a Tesla Model X, as it was about to be driven into a garage.

Nothing to raise any alarm bells so far, but after pulling in front of the garage to leave the kids out, the woman behind the wheel forgot to close one of the falcon doors, as the short video captured on CCTV and shared down below painfully shows.

The driver decided to ignore the chime and rolled into the garage with the door open, which turned out to be a poor decision, as the gap wasn’t wide enough to ensure safe passing. What happened next is obvious, as the electric SUV’s door hit the wall and bent backwards, making it impossible to close.

This is the kind of accident that leaves a deep mark both on the car and the owner’s insurance premiums / pocket. Luckily, they do have a pretty nice garage that’s home to a couple of classic cars, including a restored ‘Stang, so it’s possible that it won’t leave a big dent in their bank accounts.

Still, it goes without saying that accidents can happen to the best of us, yet some of them can easily be avoided just by paying extra attention to the surrounding environment. And not driving into the garage with the door open is a lesson learned the hard way by this driver.
