Toyota has teased two all-new hybrid models it will unveil later today and while the identity of one remains unconfirmed, it’s emerged that one of them will be the 2021 Toyota Sienna.

Both an image and a brief video previewing the live event showcase the rear of the latest-generation Sienna minivan. Visible are noticeably sharper taillights, large Sienna branding, and Toyota’s blue-accented badge.

Making the new Toyota Sienna intriguing is the fact that it looks set to be sold exclusively with a hybrid powertrain. Auto Guide understands the minivan will ride on Toyota’s TNGA platform meaning it will probably have a variation of the Highlander’s hybrid powertrain. This means both front- and all-wheel drive configurations could be available.

CNET notes that the Sienna will join a growing list of hybrid vehicles from the Japanese automaker that already includes the likes of the Avalon, Camry, Corolla, Highlander, RAV4, RAV4 Prime, as well as the Prius and Prius Prime.

We first caught a whiff of the new Toyota Sienna hybrid back in March when a slide showing the company’s future product plans surfaced across social media. In addition to confirming the new Sienna will launch in the fall of 2020, the slide showed that Toyota will launch an all-hybrid, all-new crossover in fall this year also, leading us to believe this is the mystery hybrid vehicle we will see later today.
