Maserati is celebrating its 106th anniversary by taking a look at the past as well as the future.
The story starts in 1914 when Alfieri Maserati joined forces with his brothers, Ettore and Ernesto, to create the company. While the brand was originally focused on motorsport, they eventually turned their attention to road-going models.
A number of these star in the Maserati A-Z film, which was released to celebrate the brand’s birthday. Over 30 models are featured in clip including the Bora, Boomerang and Biturbo. They’re joined by the 3500 GT, Ghibli SS and Quattroporte.

While most of the video focuses on the past, it also notes the company’s future. The MC20 is prominently featured and this isn’t surprising as the model is brand’s latest flagship. It has a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 621 hp (463 kW / 630 PS) and 538 lb-ft (730 Nm) of torque. This enables the coupe to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than 2.9 seconds, before hitting a top speed in excess of 202 mph (325 km/h).
The MC20 will also help to spearhead Maserati’s EV push as there will be a Folgore variant with three electric motors. The company has been tight-lipped on specifics, but the MC20 Folgore will be more powerful than the standard model and have a range in excess of 200 miles (322 km).
Lastly, the clip teases the all-new Grecale and redesigned GranTurismo. The Grecale will arrive next year and slot beneath the Levante. Little is known about the model at this point, but it’s expected to be influenced by the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and available with petrol, hybrid and electric powertrains.
The GranTurismo, on the other hand, will be a four-seater sports car and the “first fully electric Maserati.” It will arrive in 2022 alongside a new GranCabrio. Maserati hasn’t said much about the model, but it’s expected to use a detuned version of the twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 that powers the MC20.
