The Toyota GR Yaris is the latest vehicle that was subjected to the moose test by Km77, and it might just be the one to have aced it, after a long string of disappointments.

So, how did it do? Well, the hot hatch passed it with flying colors, with the best attempt being at 80 km/h (50 mph), 3 km/h (2 mph) more than the required minimum speed.

As the Spanish YouTube channel noted, the GR Yaris did not lose momentum as the driver swerved to avoid the cones and brought it back to the initial lane one second later, as the car handled the test like a pro.

Review: The Toyota GR Yaris Circuit Pack Is A Proper Rally Car For The Road

Presented over a year ago as the latest entry to the subcompact hot hatch segment, the GR Yaris is built on a custom platform that uses the front end of the GA-B architecture, which is shared with the regular Yaris, and the rear end of the GA-C, which is used in the automaker’s compact models. The implementation of all-wheel drive was thus possible, and the car also features exclusive suspension and uprated brakes.

The optional Circuit Pack, which was fitted to the car tested by Km77, adds a performance-tuned suspension, front and rear Torsen limited-slip differentials, and 18-inch forged wheels with 225/40 Michelin Pilot Sport 4s tires.

The GR Yaris is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that puts out 257 HP (261 PS / 192 kW) and 266 lb-ft (360 Nm) of torque in Euro-spec, rocketing it to 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 5.5 seconds and up to a 143 mph (230 km/h) top speed.
