The Koenigsegg Regera is one of the most interesting hypercars launched in recent years and a particularly stunning example was spotted in London just a few days before Christmas.

Koenigsegg is building just 80 examples of the Regera and the owner of this example shelled out to have its exterior clad in gorgeous exposed carbon fiber. It is reported that the lack of paint saves roughly 20 kg (44 lbs) and, in all likelihood, added a significant sum to the car’s price tag. Matching the carbon fiber finish are wheels also made exclusively from the lightweight material.

This particular Regera has also been equipped with the optional high-downforce ‘Ghost’ package. This kit adds new carbon fiber canards to the front fascia and includes a pair of winglets on the rear haunches. The Swedish automaker says the Ghost package increases downforce by 20 per cent, making the Regera even better suited to high-speed track driving. A gold pinstripe (using real gold) is also featured on this car.

Like all other Regera models produced, this one is powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 paired with three electric motors and delivering a combined 1,500 hp and 1,475 lb-ft (2,000 Nm) of torque, all of which is sent through the rear wheels via a direct drive system with just a single gear. The Regera holds the production car record for the sprint from 0-400-0 km/h (0-250-0 mph), completing it in just 31.49 seconds.
