The BMW 4-Series is getting a little more expressive as the company has introduced a facelifted coupe and convertible.

Set to be launched globally in March, the cars have been given a light refresh that sees them outfitted with sharper looking headlights and available Laserlight tail lamps. The latter come standard on the M440i and have “laser diodes illuminating glass fiber bundles, producing attractive three-dimensional light graphics.”

Elsewhere, customers will find new 19-inch wheels and a revised color palette that includes Cape York Green metallic as well as Vegas Red metallic. 430i variants have matte chrome accents and a new mesh intake design, while the M440i sports a new gloss black grille with M badging.

The sporty variant also has black tailpipe finishers as well as gloss black accents that replace the previous Cerium Grey flourishes. Buyers looking for something more aggressive can get an optional M Carbon Exterior Package.

The minor updates continue inside as the cars have been equipped with new steering wheels that feature shift paddles as well as illuminated switchgear. Buyers will also find standard sport seats, revised ambient lighting, and new air vents. Other highlights include iDrive 8.5 and a familiar Curved Display.

Under the hood, the 430i has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with mild hybrid technology. The engine also features a host of upgrades including a “redesign of the intake ports and combustion chambers” as well as “innovations in the areas of camshaft control, injection, ignition system, and exhaust gas routing.” Despite all the changes, the output remains unchanged at 255 hp (190 kW / 259 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque.

The 3.0-liter inline-six in the M440i is new and benefits from a mild hybrid system, which can deliver a boost of 11 hp (8 kW / 11 PS) and 148 lb-ft (200 Nm) of torque “for more than 10 seconds in total”. As a result, the powertrain has a combined output of 386 hp (288 kW / 391 PS) and 398 lb-ft (539 Nm) of torque, a minor bump over last year’s model rated at 382 hp and 369 lb-ft respectively.

The models will arrive in the United States for the 2025 model year and pricing will start at $50,700 for the 430i Coupe and $58,700 for the 430i Convertible. Upgrading to the M440i Coupe will cost $64,250 while the performance-oriented drop top begins at $72,250.
