When an email entitled ‘400k-Mile MK4 Toyota Supra Live on BaT’ appeared in my inbox, I initially glanced over the ‘k’ and thought I would find a Supra driven just 400 miles since new.

What I found was a Supra that has been driven 388,000 miles (~624,000 km) and yet bidding on it has already surpassed $40,000. Welcome to the crazy world of used Mk4 Supras.

This is a 1993 Supra Turbo that was purchased new for the late owner’s appraisal business in Florida. It was frequently driven across the country to complete appraisals and is now being offered on behalf of the owner’s estate with a clean Carfax report and relatively few modifications, a rarity for a Supra of this era and adding to its desirability.

Adorning the exterior is a nice shade of blue and the car benefited from a respray in the early 2000s. It sits on 17-inch five-spoke wheels with a chrome finish but the listing on BaT doesn’t note if these are the original rims. What we do know is that the taillights have been replaced at some stage and while there is some rust near the rear window wiper, the car appears to be in good condition given how many miles it has been driven.

The interior shows more signs of use than the outside. For example, the Ivory-colored leather seats have plenty of cracks and rips in them. The seller also notes that the electric adjustment for the driver’s seat no longer works but in preparation for sale, the shift knob, steering wheel, and center console were all replaced, making the car feel slightly newer.

Found under the hood is the original twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter 2JZ-GTE inline-six engine. The seller had the engine rebuilt at approximately 250,000 miles (~402,000 km) and it currently includes an HKS Twin Power ignition module, HKS camshaft gears, a Greddy Profec B II Boost Controller, an aftermarket intercooler, a blow-off valve, and a new air filter.
