• This blue-and-red Corvette sold for far less than its original MSRP.
  • Bright red exterior trim gives the mid-engine coupe a comic-book look.
  • The low-mileage Stingray had covered fewer than 7,200 miles total.

For some Corvette loyalists, the move to a mid-engined layout took roughly a lifetime to arrive. The C8 was worth the wait when it landed in 2019. Not everyone signed off on the styling, though, and that argument is still alive in the comment sections, but the base Stingray’s case as the most performance-per-dollar in the segment is hard to beat.

A new 2026 Chevy Corvette Stingray opens at $72,495, but the used market is where the real numbers live. This 2024 Convertible recently changed hands for $66,000 against an original MSRP of $95,625. Nearly thirty grand of depreciation in under two years on a car that will still embarrass things costing twice as much.

The car is painted in Riptide Blue Metallic, which we think is one of the nicer colors that’s been offered on the C8. Perhaps after watching a Superman marathon, the owner decided to use double-sided tape to stick on a bunch of bright red plastic, including on the front splitter, around the air intakes, and red mesh in the intakes themselves. There’s also bright red around the side intakes and a plastic red panel sitting behind the rear license plate.

It’s certainly a bold color combination that will not appeal to all, but fortunately, all these red trimmings can be removed. The listing on Cars & Bids listing notes this C8 was configured with the $6,345 Z51 Performance Package, front lift function, and Magnetic Selective Ride Control.

Should You Wait For A 2027?

Although it’s now possible to get a C8 Corvette for less than $50,000, examples trading hands for around that mark generally have quite high mileage. This car was sold with less than 7,200 miles (11,500 km) on the odometer and was serviced earlier this year.

However, if you are in the market for a C8 Corvette, it might be wise to wait until the 2027 models start arriving at dealerships and take the updated Stingray for a test drive. It will start at $73,495, just a $1,000 increase over the old model, and comes equipped with the new 6.7-liter V8, pumping out 535 hp and 520 lb-ft (704 Nm), up from the old Stingray’s 495 hp and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm).
