The Lexus LFA is a very rare supercar; the Japanese car maker produced just 500 examples, 50 of which were the special Nürburgring Edition. So you can imagine that every time one of those shows up for sale it will attract a lot of interest from collectors and fans alike.
This specific LFA Nürburgring Edition is a repossessed example from Germany, with the seller claiming it’s the only one in the world signed by Akio Toyoda on the hood. It’s currently offered from Hämmerle with a starting price of a little over half a million euros (around $580k in current exchange rates).
There’s little to none information about the background of this LFA, which in some photos wears a set of stickers from a wedding. It has covered just 1,000 km (621 miles) and everything looks to be in mint condition, from the striking orange paintwork to extra bits of carbon fiber and the dark blue alcantara interior.
Nürburgring Edition cars came with a slightly more powerful 4.8-liter V10 producing 563hp (571PS), 10 more than the standard LFA, as well as a recalibrated six-speed sequential transmission for faster gear changes, a lower and retuned suspension, extra aero bits and stickier tires. The package was a $70,000 option on top of the LFA’s MSRP of $375,000.
Back in 2011, Lexus claimed a 7:14.64 lap at the Nürburgring, beating the standard LFA’s time by more than 8 seconds as well as rivals like the Dodge Viper ACR and the Porsche 911 GT2 RS.
