• Toyota launches new RAV4 in Japan with hybrid power only.
  • Lifestyle and Outdoor packs add bodykits and interior tweaks.
  • PHEV option and GR Sport trim confirmed for 2026 launch.

The latest Toyota RAV4 has already rolled out in North America, Europe, and China, gradually establishing itself in key global markets. Now, it finally arrives on home soil, accompanied by a pair of styling packages developed with Modellista.

Aimed at Japanese buyers looking for something a bit sharper or more off-road inspired, the optional kits dress up the hybrid SUV without changing what lies underneath.

In Japan, the RAV4 is available exclusively as a self-charging hybrid, offered in two trims: Z (Core) and Adventure (Woodland). Toyota has confirmed that a plug-in hybrid version is on the way, set to join the lineup sometime before the end of the 2026 fiscal year. A GR Sport version will arrive within the same timeframe.

While the domestic range may seem narrow compared to other markets, Japanese buyers still get access to an extensive catalogue of factory and aftermarket accessories from Toyota, Modellista, and TZ that aren’t available elsewhere.

These can be ordered à la carte or bundled into two pre-configured kits, named the Lifestyle Package for the Z trim, and the Outdoor Package for the Adventure.

Lifestyle Package (RAV4 Z)

The Lifestyle Package leans into a sporty aesthetic, adding a Modellista bodykit with a front splitter, extra LEDs, side skirts, a rear bumper extension, a grille cover, and new mirror caps. Buyers can also opt for Modellista’s 20-inch alloy wheels, though these are not included in the bundle.

Inside, the Lifestyle treatment brings practical upgrades such as an all-season shade, storage solutions for the cargo area, and extended ambient lighting.

If your tastes lean more outdoorsy, the Adventure trim gets its own treatment. The Outdoor Package replaces the bodykit with chunkier, trail-style accents: a fresh grille insert with integrated LEDs, aluminum-look skid plates, mock side gills, and broader overfenders.

Outdoor Package (RAV4 Adventure)

The bodykit is combined with a hood deflector and clever storage solutions inside the cabin. As a finishing touch, the SUV can ride on optional 18-inch alloy wheels with a Matte Olive finish.

Toyota’s upcoming RAV4 GR Sport could also be complemented by GR Parts, though further details haven’t been confirmed.

None of the packages adds any performance or chassis upgrades to the popular SUV. The hybrid 2.5-liter engine has a combined output of up to 237 hp (177 kW / 240 PS), closely matching the US-spec equivalent. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via the E-Four electric 4WD system with Trail and Snow drive modes.

Toyota RAV4 (Japan)

Toyota hasn’t released details for the plug-in hybrid variant yet, but for reference, the American-spec RAV4 Prime produces 320 hp (238 kW / 324 PS).

Pricing for the Japan-market RAV4 starts at ¥4,500,000 (equal to around $29,000 at current exchange rates) for the Adventure and ¥4,900,000 ($31,500) for the Z. Optional upgrades are predictably steep, as the Outdoor Package comes in at ¥508,310 ($3,300), while the more style-focused Lifestyle Package is priced at ¥586,760 ($3,800).
