• Jaos upgrades Toyota’s RAV4 Adventure with rugged package.
  • SUV gains reinforced bumper, LEDs, fenders, and side skirts.
  • Optional lift kit and A/T tires improve off-road ability

Toyota recently launched the Japanese-market version of the new-generation RAV4, and while Modellista already offers its own take with a lightly outdoorsy look, another local tuner has gone further in toughening it up. Jaos has stepped in with a more rugged treatment for the popular SUV, complete with a protective bodykit, upgraded wheels, and a lifted suspension for extra ground clearance.

This isn’t just cosmetic. The modifications aim to boost the RAV4’s trail-ready character while preserving its road manners. As usual with Jaos, the execution is focused and functional, and the kit is available a la carte for those who prefer to pick and choose their upgrades.

What Sets the Jaos Kit Apart?

Based on the Adventure trim, Jaos’s build aligns closely with Modellista’s Outdoor Package but pushes further in visual aggression. Up front, a chunky nose protector integrates four amber LEDs, styled after the marker lights you’d see on full-size trucks. The bumper also receives a three-piece extension.

The profile looks tougher thanks to the wider bolt-on fender extensions, the rugged side skirts and the pillar protectors. Other optional items include the carbon-style covers for the door handles and the fuel lid.

Around the back, Jaos adds protective trim to the tailgate and rear bumper, complemented by a waterproof luggage tray. The large aluminum-look skid plate remains standard on the RAV4 Adventure but integrates well with the added cladding.

The SUV now sits on a set of Jaos Adamas BL5 wheels, measuring 17 inches in diameter and offered in either Smoke Polished Black or Matte Glass Black. These are a step down in size from the standard 18-inch alloys, creating room for chunkier all-terrain tires. Buyers can also opt for matching mudguards in black or red.

For drivers planning to go beyond the pavement, the cosmetic upgrades can be paired with Jaos’s Battlez Lift-up springs and frequency-sensitive adjustable dampers. This setup adds between 20 and 25 mm (0.8 to 1.0 inch) of additional ground clearance.

Mechanically, the RAV4 remains unchanged. It keeps the standard 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain, which delivers a combined 237 hp (177 kW / 240 PS). Power continues to go to all four wheels through Toyota’s E-Four electric all-wheel-drive system, which includes Trail and Snow modes as part of the standard equipment.

How Much for the Whole Package?

Jaos offers each part individually, and pricing is about what you’d expect for niche hardware. The front bumper retails for ¥114,400 (about $740 at current exchange rates), while the nose protector and side skirts are priced at ¥66,000 ($430) apiece.

The bolt-on fenders go for ¥94,600 ($620), the pillar garnish costs ¥33,000 ($220), and the mudguards are ¥35,200 ($230). Rear trim for the tailgate and scuff plate runs ¥22,200 ($140), and the door handle and fuel lid protectors are ¥5,500 ($40) each.

A set of wheels is priced at ¥218,240 ($1,400) without the tires, and the upgraded suspension (springs and dampers) costs ¥162,800 ($1,040). Add everything together and you have a total of ¥850,440 ($5,400) on top of the ¥4,500,000 ($28,800) starting price of the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Adventure in the Japanese market.
