• Kugel Werks unveiled the C63-based One Eleven restomod.
  • It pairs classic W111 style with modern AMG V8 undepinnings.
  • Deliveries of the bespoke build are scheduled to begin in 2026.

The Mercedes-Benz W111 Coupe from the ’60s ranks among the finest work the late Paul Bracq ever did, which doesn’t change the fact that everything under that bodywork is 65 years old. Kugel Werks, an independent tuner and coachbuilder, decided the shape was worth keeping but the hardware wasn’t. Its answer wraps the vintage coupe’s aesthetic around a modern platform and a twin-turbo V8.

The car is called the One Eleven, and it follows the custom Mercedes-Benz 600 Grosser W100 the same Los Angeles company built earlier. That one was a four-door sedan underpinned by the AMG E 63 S. This one is a two-door coupe built on the AMG C63 S Coupe, and it is the better-looking of the two by some margin.

The exterior retains the timeless proportions of the original with its boxy grille, upright nose, long hood, slim pillars, and stretched rear overhang. Modifications include the wide fender extensions, the 20-inch alloy wheels featuring an AMG-inspired design, the custom body-colored bumpers, the dual tailpipes, and the deeper side skirts. Furthermore, the chrome bits have been replaced by glossy black and the lighting units feature modern LED graphics.

510 HP From A Donor C63 S

Under the skin, the One Eleven uses the underpinnings of the previous generation Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe (W205) built from 2016 through 2022. That means the powertrain, suspension, brakes, and electronic driver aids all come over intact. The twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 makes 510 hp (380 kW / 517 PS) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque, routed to the rear wheels through a seven-speed AMG Speedshift gearbox.

Kugel hasn’t released a photo of the cabin yet, which leaves its earlier restomod as the best guide to what’s coming. That car took the donor vehicle’s digital cockpit, dashboard, and bucket seats and moved them over largely as-is, so expect something similar here. Buyers will get a deep menu of customization choices on top of that, with leather, Alcantara, wood, and carbon fiber available in whatever combinations they specify.

What It Costs

Production will be limited, with deliveries expected to start by September 2026. Pricing lands well below the earlier car, which as you can tell, is a relative term here. The W100 one-off was reportedly priced at $850,000, while Kugel says the W111 will start from $480,000.
