- BMW has unveiled limited-run versions of the M2, M3, M4, and M5.
- Joining them are special-edition BMW M 1000 R, M 1000 RR, and M 1000 XRs.
- The cars and bikes are finished in either Nürburgring Green or Black Sapphire.
Porsche isn’t the only car manufacturer paying tribute to the Nürburgring’s upcoming 100th anniversary in 2027. While we’re still in year 99 since the world’s most grueling racetrack officially opened, BMW has presented several special edition cars and motorbikes to celebrate the circuit’s centenary.
The lineup starts at the base of the BMW M family with the M2 and extends up to the M5 Touring. There’s no word on how many units of each will be built, nor how much they’ll cost. For now, what matters is that they all look very special.

Shoppers can order a special 100 Jahre Nürburgring version of the M2, M3 Sedan, M3 Touring, M4 Coupe, M5 Sedan, and M5 Touring in either the eye-catching shade of Nürburgring Green or Black Sapphire. For as nice as a black BMW M looks, it’s the green option that really makes these cars stand out, making it the obvious option.
Racing Touches
The new limited-run M models include special ‘100 Years’ and ‘Nürburgring since 1927’ logos and graphics on the front doors, C-pillar, and rear quarter panels. There’s also a racing stripe running down the roof, finished in exposed carbon fiber for the M2, M3 Sedan, M4 Coupe, and M5 Sedan, and normal steel in the M3 Touring and M5 Touring.
Certain models, like the M3 Sedan and M5 Sedan, also feature bright green accents on the wheels, while others get a green finish on the kidney grilles. Inside, all share the same basic black finish with contrasting green and white stitching, including on the steering wheel, and a 12 o’clock marker.
The M2, M3, and M4 models also use BMW M’s updated M Ignite six-cylinder engine, featuring an advanced pre-chamber ignition system for better efficiency and to comply with Euro 7 regulations, without sacrificing performance.
BMW Motorrad has also released a trio of bikes to mark the occasion. Based on the M 1000 RR, M 1000 R, and M 1000 XR, each comes with the available M Track Package, plus carbon fiber wheels, anniversary decals, Nürburgring Green paint, distinctive airbox covers, and a circuit outline on the fuel tanks. Just 100 examples of each of these special bikes will be produced.
