When thinking about Mexico, one of the least things that comes to mind is probably fast cars.

But the country located south of the U.S. border does have its fair share of quick machines and plenty of action going on.

So, on the lookout for some nighttime activities involving lots of horsepower, a few petrol heads traveled to Mexico, where they were involved in some illegal street racing.

One of the cars that was pushed through its paces on that night was a tuned Lamborghini Huracan Performante, whose naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine pushes out 631 hp (640 PS / 470 kW) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque.

Only this example has gained a few upgrades from Dallas Performance, including (probably) a twin-turbo mod, which reportedly lifted the output to some incredible 1,400 horsepower.

With enough grunt to take on some of the country’s fastest machines, this Huracan Performante was raced against a couple of Suzuki Hayabusa sport bikes, on a highway, from a rolling start.

Choosing to set off while already in motion should have diminished the Italian supercar’s extra grip, but when the extra oomph kicked in, the driver saw his ride heading towards one of the bikers. He then decided to swerve left to avoid the impact, and ended up losing control and going off road.

Surprisingly, the unintended adventure through the arduous terrain left no scratches, as shown later in the video, after the Huracan was taken to a car wash. Still, it’s probably best that it gets inspected, if it hasn’t already, and even better if the driver keeps drag racing away from public streets.
