A brutal accident took place late Wednesday morning on the 91 Freeway in Anaheim, California, shutting down traffic and injuring one driver.

The crash occurred at 10:36 AM at the Lakeview Avenue off-ramp, according to California Highway Patrol, who added that the driver of the semi crossed two lanes of traffic before hitting a 2005 Ford. Both vehicles then skidded left and impacted the barrier.

While the Ford remained in the eastbound express lane, the semi plowed through the concrete divider, scattering debris onto the westbound lanes, hitting a 2013 Toyota and a 2017 Ford, as reported by The Orange County Register. Also, rough 80 gallons of diesel fuel spilled onto the tarmac.

The person who was injured was the driver of the 2005 Ford, who went on to receive treatment at the scene from fire personnel and was later transported to a nearby hospital.

One of the cars bombarded by debris was the dashcam vehicle, whose driver went on to pull over and we assume either called emergency services or went to try and lend a helping hand.

As for the driver of the semi, we’re glad they weren’t injured, which is surprising since the impact was violent enough so as to overturn the damaged rig. We do not know why he lost control in the first place, but the wet weather conditions may have had something to do with it.
