Most disgruntled owners choose to publicly shame their cars by driving them around with banners detailing their defects.

Some take it further and burn their cars, while others drive straight into dealerships to protest. To each their own, we guess, but the Russian owner of a Mercedes-AMG G63 would like you to believe that he took this game to another level by hiring a helicopter to drop his luxury SUV onto the ground from an altitude of 300 meters (almost 1,000 feet).

Obviously, the publicity stunt was caught on camera and posted on YouTube and Instagram. Now, you don’t have to wear a trench coat to suspect that this was the entire purpose behind the stunt, as the guy who had the G63 destroyed is a young vlogger specializing in pranks that goes by the name of Igor Moroz.

According to Kolesa, the story goes that he and a friend fought for a contract, with Moroz vowing to destroy his AMG G-Wagen in a very specific way if he lost said deal. Since that happened, he had to hold his promise and find a way to smash the Mercedes-Benz from a high altitude.

The stunt could not be performed in Moscow, for obvious reasons, so the pair found an airport willing to accommodate their unusual request in Petrozavodsk, the Republic of Karelia. There, they hired a helicopter to lift the German off-roader into the air and drop it from around 1,000 feet.

The one-time mighty SUV was reduced to a pile of contorted metal in a matter of seconds, as the video documents. Igor appeared pretty happy to get rid of his Mercedes-AMG G63 as he claims the SUV had been a nightmare to own since he bought in March 2018.

He says the Mercedes broke down on a monthly basis and remained at the dealer for as long a month. Furthermore, the dealer did not agree to repair some of the faults under warranty. Of course, he could have just sold the car or sue the dealer but that wouldn’t have generated any YouTube and Instagram views, would it?
