Porsche is no stranger to electrification as the company already offers an assortment of plug-in hybrids as well as the fully-electric Taycan.

Their electrified lineup will grow in the future thanks to the introduction of an electric Macan and 911 Hybrid. The latter was recently spotted undergoing testing and there’s no mistaking it for anything else thanks to countless warning stickers.

Since the hybrid is based on the facelifted 911, it has a lightly revised exterior with a new front bumper that features vertical fins. We can also see evolutionary headlights, a sport exhaust system, and what appears to be a modified rear bumper.

There doesn’t appear to be any styling features that distinguish the hybrid from the standard model, but the production vehicle may be equipped with hybrid badging as well as yellow-green calipers like the Cayenne and Panamera E-Hybrids.

That being said, the 911 won’t be a plug-in hybrid like the aforementioned models. Instead, it will be a traditional hybrid that is expected to take some cues from the 919 Hybrid.

Little is known about the powertrain at this point, but officials have previously said weight and packaging issues have been one of the biggest challenges in creating the hybrid variant. This suggests Porsche is trying to keep the weight gain to a minimum, so we can likely expect a small and lightweight battery pack.

Furthermore, the model is expected to be focused on performance instead of efficiency. That’s not surprising as a handful of brands have embraced electrification to take advantage of powerful electric motors.
