- The Prelude gains a 2027 Limited Edition for the Japanese market.
- Its 200 hp hybrid powertrain carries over unchanged.
- Pricing starts at $39,300, just $800 more than the standard car.
Honda wants Japan to look at the Prelude again, and its pitch is a 2027 Limited Edition dressed in a new deep red paint with matching trim inside. Nothing under the skin changes. The hybrid coupe is exactly the car it was, now in a louder outfit.
The Prelude reached the Japanese market in September 2025, and the launch ON Limited Edition paired a Moonlit Pearl finish with a black roof, mirrors, and wheels. Less than a year later, this 2027 version arrives with a more eye-catching spec.

The body wears Premium Crystal Garnet Metallic, a shade the Prelude hasn’t been offered in before. It comes with a matching grille molding, red accents on the bumpers in place of the standard blue, and the familiar 19-inch alloy wheels in a Machined Black Clear finish behind red Brembo brakes.
The interior has also received a special treatment with Bordeaux inserts on the front seats, center console, and dashboard. The rest of the upholstery is black leather with Bordeaux contrasting stitching. Finally, the Prelude embroidered logo on the passenger side of the dash is red instead of white.

Mechanically, the 2027 Limited Edition shares the hybrid powertrain and chassis setup with the standard Prelude. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and dual electric motors produce a combined 200 hp (149 kW / 203 PS), sending power to the front wheels. The signature Honda S+Shift system simulates gear changes with torque mapping and sound effects for a more engaging driving experience.
The 2027 Limited Edition of the Honda Prelude is already available to order in Japan, and is scheduled to reach dealers in August 20. The special model is priced at ¥6,306,300 ($39,300), representing an increase of ¥126,500 ($800) over the standard Prelude.
Honda is keeping its cards close about other markets, so whether this color scheme reaches North America for the 2027 model year stays an open question.
