- Hyundai has teased the next i20 for the very first time.
- Its new LED lights look lifted straight off a Lamborghini.
- In Brazil, it will sit between the smaller HB20 and the Creta.
Hyundai has handed us our first look at the next-generation i20, and the headline is right there on its nose. The teaser shows a striking new front end that keeps up the brand’s recent run of cars that punch well above their price tag when it comes to design. The lighting signature, in particular, looks to have come straight from Sant’Agata.
The lone teaser shows the i20 wearing sideways Y-shaped LED daytime running lights joined by a connecting light bar. These lights are obviously similar in shape to the DRLs on the Lamborghini Revuelto and to that car’s taillights.

None of this catches us off guard. Spy shots from September of last year already gave us an unobstructed look at these lights, so the teaser is really just Hyundai confirming what we suspected.
While the current i20 is built in both Turkey and India, Hyundai Brazil shared this teaser online, confirming it will be built in Brazil. Other models already built by Hyundai in Brazil include the HB20, the HB20S, and the Crete. According to Hyundai, the new i20 “will be positioned as a bridge between hatches and the world of SUVs,” perhaps suggesting the Brazilian-spec car will ride a little higher than those sold in other markets.
A Fresh Cabin Is Expected

Beyond the revised front end, we know the new i20 will sport a slightly boxier shape than the current model, with a new roof and angular side windows. It appears to be roughly the same size as the existing one, though some minor changes to the dimensions are expected.
It’s not yet known what the interior will look like, but there’s a good chance it’ll become the latest Hyundai model to adopt the firm’s Pleos Connect infotainment display, consisting of a large central tablet-like screen in the dashboard. This new setup debuted on the all-electric Ioniq 3 and is expected to appear in most new Hyundai models.
